At Shamberg, Johnson & Bergman, we take great pride in the legacy of our founder, John Shamberg, whose commitment to the legal profession extended far beyond the courtroom. His passion for supporting future generations of lawyers lives on through the Shamberg Scholars Program at Washburn University School of Law and the Kansas Bar Foundation’s John Shamberg Memorial Law Student Scholarship.
We are thrilled to announce that Karen Campbell, who will be joining our firm this summer after graduating from the University of Kansas School of Law, has been awarded the 2025 John Shamberg Memorial Law Student Scholarship by the Kansas Bar Foundation. This $4,000 award recognizes Karen’s dedication to academic excellence and her commitment to justice—values that John Shamberg upheld throughout his career.
The Shamberg Scholars Program at Washburn Law continues to impact the legal community, offering full resident tuition and a partial living stipend to select students. At any given time, six Shamberg Scholars are benefiting from John Shamberg’s extraordinary generosity and belief in the power of legal education.
We are also proud to highlight that Richard Budden, a newly named partner of the firm, is a former Shamberg Scholar—a testament to how this program continues to shape outstanding legal professionals.
John Shamberg’s dedication to the rule of law, the legal profession, and the next generation of attorneys remains an integral part of our firm’s values. We are honored to celebrate his lasting contributions and to welcome Karen Campbell as she embarks on her legal career with us.
