Daniel A. Singer
About
Daniel A. Singer is a second-generation lawyer who focuses his practice on helping those injured in accidents. A partner at Shamberg, Johnson & Bergman, Chtd., he joined the firm in 2010 and regularly handles complex litigation involving medical negligence, automobile accidents, trucking accidents, premises liability, sports injuries, and more.
Daniel grew up in the Kansas City area and, in going to law school, was driven by a desire to return to his home and help people in his community. He takes great pride in seeing the look on a client’s face after he has obtained a favorable settlement or verdict and the client knows they will no longer have to worry about how they will afford medical treatment, medications, equipment, and other new necessities. Daniel is compelled to help those who have been injured through no fault of their own and who are being treated unfairly with the goal of helping them achieve some measure of justice for what has happened to them.
An experienced trial lawyer, Daniel has obtained significant verdicts on behalf of clients located in both Kansas and Missouri. Recently, he worked alongside Attorney Lynn Johnson in obtaining an $11.5 million ruling in a Riley County, Kansas bad faith case arising out of an insurance carrier’s mishandling of a claim against its insured pilot following a fatal aviation crash. Daniel was also part of the trial team that obtained a $2.88 million verdict in a medical negligence case in Johnson County, Kansas in which an individual received a lumbar epidural steroid injection that resulted in meningitis and, ultimately, death.
After obtaining his undergraduate degree in political science with honors and highest distinction from the University of Kansas, he went on to earn his law degree from Duke University School of Law. There, he was an articles editor for Law and Contemporary Problems, as well as an active participant on the moot court and mock trial teams. During his time in law school, Daniel was recognized as the best oral advocate at the 2010 National First Amendment Moot Court Competition.
When he is not working, Daniel enjoys skeet shooting, traveling, and following the Royals and the Jayhawks. He lives with his wife, Catherine, a business litigation attorney, and their two kids, a daughter who loves music, books, and strange foods, and a newborn son who loves baths, his big sister, and being held no matter how early in the morning it is.
